MECQ Guidelines for SMEs

With the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) put into place, more stores like yours can now flip back your open sign to the public. This must bring you some relief as you can resume earning to help provide for you, your family, and employees. However, like what we’ve seen in our emails or social media, things won’t be going back to the normal we used to know.

The MECQ’s lessened restrictions also come with people eager to go out after months of being in quarantine. So, it’s important that your business is a safe and trusted space for both your customers and employees. Now more than ever, people are looking for businesses they can count on and will help them feel secure.

Social distancing and good hygiene measures in your physical store.

It’s essential that your store is prepared with A+ physical distancing and disinfection practices: clear visual cues for lining up, no-touch purchases, and hassle-free sanitation, just to mention a few. The easier to understand and do, the better! Besides it being government-mandated, these are part of the ways you can show your genuine customer care, too.

Safety equipment and transportation for your employees.

Although you may back-to-work mode, two of these crucial needs are still in limited supply. Yes, this may be another spend to consider. But being able to find face masks and shields and helping your workers find a way to get work will surely support their well-being, as well as foster their relationship with you as you work together during this time.

Going online (if you haven’t already).

Although some physical stores have the go-signal to be open once again, a number of businesses have started to shift a lot of their efforts to digital. Why? For one, it removes the customer’s need to go outside. In this way, it’s safer and lessens the number of contacts. More importantly, many foresee that a lot of business will have to be done through digital platforms until the mid or end of the year, especially since it’s a good place to be visible now the majority are constantly online.

Partnering with other SMEs.

The support within the community can go a long way. If you find a business that can complement your product or service well, then it doesn’t only help you widen your reach; it can also help your customers get their needs or wants with more ease.

Get better healthcare for your employees.

Now is the perfect time to get proper healthcare for your employees. ALLCARE provides an all-in-one worker benefits package for SMEs  to ensure the health and safety during this time of COVID.

This transition to MECQ and what may come after definitely won’t be “business as usual.” Adapting is key, but for sure, you aren’t alone in treading through this brand new territory. As much as you can, stay updated with new practices and innovations that can help you take care of your business better.
